CupThe Perennial Tea Room [Tea merchant]
1910 Post Alley; 888-448-4054 or 206-448-4054
Updated May 2002 (by tealadies) Four types of tea daily. Sit and sip or to go. Teapots from all over the world plus teatime accessories. Open seven days a week. No food served, but you can purchase English biscuits and shortbread with your tea. Updated January 2003 (by Sue and Julee, proprietors). Located in Seattle's Pike Place Market. Hours 9.30am to 6pm. Over 70 bulk teas plus packaged teas. Updated (by ~Sophia): I visit this tea room twice a year on my visits to Seattle. On the last trip (2004) the owner told me they no longer serve teapots of tea. The tea was pre-made and standing in insulated carafes behind the counter (the kind of carafes that business lunch caterers use). When I asked for tea, they dispensed from the carafe of prepared tea into a cardboard cup and handed me two small plastic containers of non-dairy creamer. Only one type of tea was available. This change was a sad loss, as a comforting pot of freshly brewed tea during a frenzied shopping trip was always welcome! They still have a wide selection of beautiful and temping tea accessories, including tetsubin and YiXing. P
